Not much is known about Max Steele, although most people believe him to be a former C.I.A. operative gone vigilante. Though it has yet to be proven, there have been many signs and clues leading to this theory. Max himself claims to be unaware of his true identity, having somehow lost his memory some time ago. Although his history is unknown, he has chosen to use his powers and skills to help the people of Millennium City! Roaming the dark alleyways and rooftops of West Side, Max hunts down criminals one at a time and is know to be extremely brutal when handling them. He is also known to have unknown government connections as he is able to access military weaponry and a seemingly unlimited amount of top secret information. Along with his many weapons and gadgets, his teleporting ability helps him avoid detection and this makes hims one of the most dangerous men to have to deal with in all of Millennium City! His quest to find the truth about who he is is one of his top priorities, however, Max is extremely cautious when making the choice to travel through time and must be certain about ever doing so. In the mean time, he will remain an Officer of the Metal Militia and help in fighting for the good of humanity!

Charles Murray developed his abilities in his teens, and being the young trouble-maker that he was, he used them to his personal advantage. He learned that with his powers, he could become a success in life without having to try as hard as others. Not long after he dropped out of school did he begin his career as a professional thief, working for many of the west coast gangs and drug dealers. He was arrested during an attempted arson at a rival gang member's hide-out, and was given a choice by the judge to either go to prison, or join the military. Murray joined the U.S. Armed Forces and gained more knowledge in combat and leadership. After three years in the Army, Buzzkill went A-WOL along with a squad of soldiers, and returned to his criminal ways without hesitation. Calling himself, Buzzkill, he moved his work to Millennium City where he finally met his match upon encountered a teleporter named Max Steele. Steele defeated Buzzkill in a quick battle and was about to kill him before city officials arrived. Since then, Buzzkill's encounters with Max have proven to be more successful in terms of putting up a fight and he has made many efforts to stop Max for good in order to continue causing chaos within the city!
