Chris Lansky was raised in a military family and grew up with almost anything he needed. At the age of 22, he took part in a snowboarding competition in Colorado in which he was one of the main attractions due to his size and skills. Unfortunately, this competition would be the last day of Chris Lansky's life as he knew it. While descending the mountain, he noticed something through the trees which caught his attention and caused me to fall off-course and into a more dangerous slope. He held up as much as possible, but in the end he failed to maintain control and tumbled down a series of cliffs. Luckily for him, his abilities manifested before landing hundreds of feet below the slope and he was able to survive the accident. As his abilities evolved over time, Lansky took up the name of Coldsnap and decided to return to that area of the Rockies in order to find what he thought was some kind of monster. As it turned out, he was right! It was a monster in the form of an overgrown zombie who had been roaming the woods and killing careless campers and hunters! Coldsnap came across him just as he was about to invade a campsite and a battle ensued. After realizing that he couldn't kill what was already dead, he retreated only to return with reinforcements. However, authorities we unable to find any trace of him afterwards. Coldsnap has since returned home and is now a member of the Metal Militia in hopes of helping those in need with his great powers!

Mortis is a zombie with incredible strength and invulnerability. He was once inexplicably roaming the forests of the Rockie Mountains and slaying innocent people in order to feed on them. He was later taken to Vibora Bay by a sorcerer known as Stradivarius and has been under his control ever since. Mortis' identity and past is unknown although it is believed that the evil sorcerer is the same person who is responsible for raising him from the dead in order to use him as a walking weapon. Although is appears that Mortis doesn't seem to have the ability to communicate in any way, he is often coming into contact with Coldsnap who has finally rediscovered the dead-man's whereabouts and is more determined to find the monster's leader than anything else. As far as Coldsnap can tell, Mortis doesn't ever come into contact with the man who controls him and so this makes if very difficult for him to try and find him any peace.
