Iron Maiden was a young girl when Detroit was wiped out by Doctor Destroyer. Most of her family resided in the former Motor City and unfortunately fell victims to the incident. As she grew up, Iron Maiden dedicated herself to the justice system by becoming an NYPD officer and helping put away a lot of the city's mob-related criminals. However, she realized that the justice system had its flaws after her first few years on the job. She saw too many criminals get off easily and walk free, so she decided to make a change. Leaving the police force wasn't easy for her, but she wanted to make a bigger difference in the world without any of the boundaries from law enforcement. Now, Iron Maiden watches over Millennium City's West Side and strikes at the instant she witnesses a crime. One by one, she is taking care of the scum that roams the streets in hopes of avenging the deaths of her family and everyone who died in Detroit on that unforgettable day. As a member of the Metal Militia, Iron Maiden now represents a team of heroes who are just like her in being advocates of street justice!

Lucia Perrino is the daughter of the famous New York mobster, Salvatore Perrino. At one time she was the Perrino family lawyer and had been extremely successful at defending her family members and associates when it came to the legal system. She has had many encounters with NYPD Officer Gail Cooper in the courthouse and was one of the main reason for Cooper leaving the police force in order to become a hero on the streets. Once Cooper became Iron Maiden, she was able to step outside the boundaries of law enforcement and apprehend many of these mobsters without worrying about the judicial system getting in the way. This didn't sit well with Lucia and so she finally decided to leave her profession as well in order to take care of Maiden herself. She began to use her powers which she concealed from the public since her teens, and took matters into her own hands when she tried to kill Iron Maiden during a job in New Jersey. However, she was unaware of the fact that Iron Maiden had powers of her own and so this attempt was unsuccessful and left her even more angry than she was before. After Iron Maiden found evidence of the Perrino family's criminal activities in the form of documents, she turned them over to the police at which point they were able to make an arrest on Salvatore and many others who were involved. Now, Lucia calls herself Luminosa and is more determined than ever to end Iron Maiden once and for all!
