Born without a working immune system, John didn't have much of a change to live life outside the plastic bubble he was placed in. Desperate for a cure, his parent decided to test an experimental new drug on their son. Doctors knew that this new drug had a small chance of jump-starting the body's immune system, however, almost every known person who has taken the drug has died from it's side effects. John's parents knew these risks but couldn't stand to see their son live life in isolation for much longer. They took the medication home and began to inject him with it daily. Before they knew it, his system had improved and was working properly again. Then something else began to happen. John began to change drastically as his side-effects wore off. He was now empowered with abnormal size and strength and he even developed the ability to manipulate temperatures to below zero degrees. After learning to use his great powers, he decided to use his power for the good of mankind. Now he lives free and out of isolation and is a hero to those in need in the great Millennium City!

Plasma Bolt is the only other known survivor to the medical trials which gave John Green his incredible powers, however, his body reacted a bit differently to the medication and developed in a different way than that of John's. He learned that he could become a super-conductor for electrical charges, but had to wear a special suit to dampen the uncontrollable electrical currents. Since obtaining these abilities, he has resented John for being able to control his powers so well and use them more effectively. Out of jealousy and resentment, he has made it his personal goal to defeat John in battle in hopes of proving himself a better fight and winning over his girlfriend, Black Rabbit!
